“The most effective way to do it to do it”
Pretty good.

'Heart of Gold’ put me in the middle of the road. Traveling there soon became a bore, so I headed for the ditch.” – Neil Young, comments written for the liner notes of his 1977 compilation, Decade.

I like this. Don’t know the source however.
“The people we surround ourselves with either raise or lower our standards. They either help us to become the-best-version-of-ourselves or encourage us to become lesser versions of ourselves. We become like our friends. No man becomes great on his own. No woman becomes great on his own. The people around them help to make them great.
We all need more people in our lives who raise our standards, remind us of our essential purpose, and challenge us to become the-best-version-of-ourselves.”
After the election I subscribed to a number of news outlets, the New York Times included.
I got an email today from the NYT stating that ‘Your opinion is important to us’. Below is an image of the layout of the questions in my web browser.

Not good. So bad i refused to continue because I basically couldn’t read the questions and answers.
I sent a note to them and hope they do better next time.
I was digging through my laptop today and found a PDF of this email.
I worked at Baseview for a number of years. Don was a great CEO. In the email below he listed out his philosophy for running companies (of which he ran several).
Enjoy.

Some of you have known me for a number of years, but most of you have only known me for a short period of time.
I have a [general] philosophy of how business is to be conducted.
This has a good side and a bad side and I will start with the good side:
The bad i.e. things that tick me off:

One of my favorite web sites is ‘The Wirecutter’ over at thewirecutter.com.
Anytime I’m going to purchase something I run over to The Wirecutter (or thesweethome.com) and look for a review. If I find something there I use their link to purchase the item.
Anyway, they’ve got a great feature called ‘Inner Vision’ which is an assortment of interesting articles regarding a variety of topics.
Check out the latest iteration here. My favorite item from this week’s list of items is this article. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
You can find a complete list of their blog posts here.
